Synergy and Windows Remote Desktop simultaneously

Now here is one to wrap your mind around. A bit of explanation is needed here. I run a PC with XP Pro. It's tweaked to allow for 2 users logged in at the same time. This way I have the PC auto-log-in on one user that utilizes the monitor, while I can log into another user via my laptop using Remote-Desktop. This works like a charm. Now I was missing a method to control the mouse and keyboard on the PC. Synergy is the perfect answer! Problem; Synergy works without problems as long as only one user is logged in. As soon as I have both users logged in synergy is lagging extremely.

There is no problem with the network. The CPU and Memory of the PC are never overloaded. While Synergy is lagging Remote Desktop is running perfect. I provide Synergy with the computer name/ip when connecting. Obviously both users on the PC has the same computer name/ip - is there a way to distinguish between the two?

Any help is appreciated
