Sudo Applications Textedit App Contents Macos Textedit Etc Hosts
- Feb 10, 2011 What you are trying to edit is a file named hosts in the etc directory at the root of your file system. The hosts file is owned by root, and only root has permission to write to that file. The sudo command is being used to run the open command as root, but that's not what you want to do.
- If you’re going to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad, before you get started, we highly recommend you backup your device’s SHSH blobs. With the release of iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch G3, Apple added.

Keystrokes for mac outlook app. Nov 25, 2019 Why would Apple know why Outllook and Goolag want to use keystrokes from another App? Under Catalina's security model, Apps are supposed to operate isolated from everything else, including your data. If they want to use your data or a service from another App, they must ask you for permission to do so.
Apr 03, 2010 An application in Mac OS X is basically a folder with the.app extension. If you browse inside it, there is a folder structure. Opening the folders Contents MacOS reveals a UNIX Terminal file, which can be launched with the Terminal. Jan 08, 2011 sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts Use TextWrangler to edit the file instead. Also, when I typed this in the first time, it prompted.
sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts
Use TextWrangler to edit the file instead.
Also, when I typed this in the first time, it prompted me for my password, but I couldn't type it in
You can. It just won't show up in the window, not even as bullets.
Now even if I try it again, it wouldn't work, ie they wouldn't prompt me for my password nor open textedit.
Once you've successfully entered your password here, you basically won't be asked again for five minutes since the last use.

I like to run cs5 on my mac LION 10.7.2
and I go to
sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts
and put 127.0.0.1 blah blah blah
but somehow I did something wrong and when I put sudo command in the Terminal it shows:
