Stuck In Offline Mode Outlook 2016 App Mac
Nov 29, 2017 If you are not able to send/receive mail and 'Working Offline' appears at the bottom of your Outlook 2016/2013 page this is how you turn Outlook online. Sep 18, 2013 Outlook 2010 (on Exchange Server 2010) recently started opening in offline mode only. I added the Work Offline button under the Send/Receive tab in the ribbon but it appears disabled/greyed out. Clicking the send/receive button does bring it back online w/ Exchange, but only long enough to finish the send/receive operation and go offline again. In Outlook, select “File” “Account Settings” “Account Settings“. Select the Exchange account in the list under the “E-mail” tab, then select “Change Check the “Use Cached Exchange Mode” box to enable it.Uncheck it to disable it. May 20, 2019 Right-click the Outlook tile pinned to the Start menu, point to More, and then click Open file location. Right-click Outlook 2016 in the File Explorer window that opens, and then click Properties. In the Outlook 2016 Properties dialog box, select Maximized for 'Run.' Method 2: Use Group Policy to configure Outlook 2016 to always run.
Mail User Guide
When an email account is offline, a lightning bolt icon appears at the end of the Favorites bar, just below the search field. The icon also appears next to the account’s mailboxes in the Mail sidebar.
In the Mail app on your Mac, do one of the following:
Take all accounts online: Click the lightning bolt icon or choose Mailbox > Take All Accounts Online.
Take a specific account online (if you have more than one account): Click the lightning bolt icon next to the account’s mailbox, or choose Mailbox > Online Status > Take [account] Online.
If you can’t take an account online, make sure you’re connected to the internet. If a warning icon appears next to the account name, click it to open Connection Doctor. Learn more about using Connection Doctor.

Some mailbox names can appear dimmed if you don’t have permission to access them, such as public mailboxes on a mail server.
Outlook offline mode simply means your Outlook program isn’t connected to your email server. You won’t be able to send or receive emails until you disable this mode. It’s not a big deal to switch between Online and Offline modes in Outlook. Here are the steps for that.

Working with Offline Mode in Outlook 2007
Working Offline is a menu option available on the File tab on Outlook 2007 navigation. As soon as you click this option, your Outlook will be abruptly disconnected from the internet.
In Outlook 2010
If your Outlook 2010 program is disconnected from the mail server, you can see “Working Offline” status at the bottom part of your Outlook window. To switch back to online mode, go to SEND / RECEIVE tab and disable Work Offline button.
Outlook 2013 and Later
To enable Offline mode in the latest Outlook versions, you have to go Send / Receive tab. Here, you can see Work Offline option in the Preferences menu.
If you turn off Work Offline option in Outlook 2016, you can see the Connected status in the status bar at the bottom. Otherwise, it’ll show Working Offline status. But in Outlook 2013, there won’t be any status if you’re working online, although it’d show Working Offline if you disconnect from online mode.
Outlook Disconnect
In some situations, your Outlook may get disconnected from your mail server resulting in Disconnected status in your Outlook. It can happen due to network issues, mail server issues, etc. Try to switch back and forth between offline and offline modes in Outlook to resolve this issue. If the problem still persists after this, take backup of your outlook data and delete your Outlook profile. Restart your PC and recreate a new one. Probably, it’d resolve the issue.
Note:If you’re using a Microsoft Exchange server account, this Work Offline option may not appear – in case, your cached exchange mode is turned off. You can manually turn this setting ON and enable work offline option.
