Why Turn Off Automatic Updates in Windows 10
Windows 10 installs updates in a two-step procedure, first the updates are downloaded to the computer and then Windows restarts the computer to complete installation of the update.
While Windows Pro users can defer updates, Windows 10 Home Edition users do not have the option to defer updates. This practically means that Updates are automatically downloaded to Windows 10 Home Edition Computers, as and when they become available.

1. Right-click on the Start button and then click on Run in the menu that appears.

In case your computer has missed multiple updates, you may have to click on Check for Updates multiple times, until your computer says that it is up to date with Updates.
After this you can go back and Disable Windows Update service, in case you want to Turn OFF Automatic Windows Updates on your computer.
Turn Off Automatic Updates By Setting Metered Connection
Some users have discovered that Windows 10 Updates are not downloaded to the computer, whenever the network connection is set as Metered Connection type in Windows 10.
