Do I really have to update to Mojave to get more updates in the future just for the security enhancements, Safari or iTunes? I don't want to update to Mojave, I'm happy with El Capitan.

And if I don't have to, how do I turn those notifications off? I didn't upgrade to the Sierra and I've noticed they've stopped giving that out, as well.

Please answer honestly and asap. Thank you.

(And remember I know nothing technical about computers and I'm really nervous about, so please explain thoroughly.)
