The Roland SP-555 is fast and powerful, but one thing has been preserved from previous SP. The latest version of SP-555 Wave Converter is 1.0 on Mac Informer. It is a perfect match for Editors & Converters in the Audio & Video category. The app is developed by Roland Corp. May 23, 2018 sp-202, sp-303, sp-404, sp-404sx and sp-555 all have the 'Mark button' instead of a display, your supposed to sample with these by ear. The 606 and the 555 are both weirdo's in-so-much-as the 555 is a 404sx that's missing some key features but can be a usb audio and midi interface.

So Windows 8.1 issue was easy. This helped me to figure it out. Basically speaking all you need to do is to add a line 'windows 8.1 supported' in the driver file. Really was it so hard to do for roland's programmers?
What about Mac? That's more complicated, as far as I'm not a mac developer. I tried to modify some parts of the driver but it's all useless cause I have no idea how to pack those *.pkg files and all that console-related stuff.
I've asked on the mac developers forum for any help, but maybe someone already had solved this. If so or if you have some ideas, please share. I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want to replace SP-555 with some other device just because of drivers!

The Roland SP-606 is a musicsampler manufactured by Roland Corporation. It is part of the SP family, which includes Roland’s popular SP-303 and SP-404 installments. Released in the year of 2004, the sampler was soon succeeded in 2005 by the SP-404.[1]

Unlike the predecessors, the SP-606 was designed in collaboration with Cakewalk. As a result, the sampler was bundled with the then-new P606 software from Cakewalk for enhanced integration and functionality with a PC.[2] The SP-606 has over 40 various effects, which include Isolator, Filter + Drive, Slicer, Reverb, Tape Echo. It also has the D Beam feature, which allows the user to control 3 different effects physically, including synth, trigger, and filter. The maximum number of samples that can be internally stored is 128. Samples are recorded in 'SP606 original format', with the memory used equating roughly to 16MB. Audio samples are imported and exported in WAV/AIF file format, by way of CompactFlash. Additionally, CompactFlash is used to update the sampler itself.[3] MIDI can be transferred via USB connection for both Mac and PC.[4][5][6][7]

Just these little box machines, like the (Roland SP) 606 and the (Boss SP) 303. I like the 606, 'cause it has a gang of effects on it. I like an MPC too, but these are so easy to just turn on and use. The only thing I did on the MPC is the De La s.. ('Shopping Bags'). I like to move quickly, and these little boxes are easy to use. I can be up in my hotel room in a different city, and just hook up beats right there. I don't like to spend more than 10 minutes at a time on a beat. I get bored and have to move on to the next thing.
